CGIC GIVES RUN ALEX JUNIOR A MAJOR BOOST

Run Alex Athletics Club started the Juniors division in April 2021 to introduce a healthy lifestyle for kids growing up in Alexandra and to further provide a platform for them to access opportunities provided by Athletics, through participating in ASA-sanctioned events.

2022 saw the growth of this project with 51 Run Alex Juniors participating in different events, from cross-country to track and field, across the province. To participate in these events, Juniors require a mandatory club vest and an annual license. Not all families of our Juniors are in a position to afford these requirements.

Credit Guarantee Insurance Corporation (CGIC) believes in this project and what it seeks to achieve and has sponsored 40 Juniors with running vests.

"We are delighted with the sponsorship as this will ensure we do not leave any child behind due to lack of funds". Club Chairperson Lebogang Mogotlane.
